Good, solid performance from the Florida-based quintet
As the sun began to shine with force on the first day of Download 2010, A Day to Remember took to the Ronnie James Dio stage. Originating from the American state of Florida, the genre-fusing five-piece notched their third consecutive Donington appearance, regarding it as their “best yet”.
The band’s unique musical style meant that they had attracted quite a diverse crowd, not only drawing in the metal lovers, but enticing the admirers of the pop-punk traits that are evident in their music. The fans showed great support as the band cycled through songs such as ‘Downfall of Us All’, ‘My Life For Hire’ and ‘Have Faith in Me’. Utilizing the growing momentum that had been building throughout their set, the group performed the catchy single ‘I’m Made of Wax Larry, What Are you Thinking Of?’ acting as the climax of what was a very solid performance from A Day to Remember.
The quintet may not have much hair between them for headbanging, but they still rocked as hard as any other band up until that point in the festival. Having generated an energetic response from the Download fans, they left the stage with their audience wanting more, meaning that hopefully their fourth appearance at Download will be not be too many years away.
