Reincarnation of Jim Morrison

It's been over 20 years since I've started listening to The Cult, and they had a huge impact back then. This is why they are one of the acts I've really been looking forward to this weekend.

Opening with 'Lil' Evil' and we are again blasted back in time as we have so many times this weekend. The main negative point for me was that the vocalist, Ian Astbury, has now seemed to have taken on a Jim Morrison look. This is a bit annoying, as I'm here to see The Cult and not The Doors of the 21st Century for which Ian sang a couple of years ago.

The Cult blasts through as many old favourites such as 'Sweet Soul Sister', 'Rain' and 'Fire Woman'; and some groovy tunes from their metal period. However, I was a little disappointed they didn't play one of my favourite tunes, 'Edie (Ciao Baby)'. The crowd erupted with 'She Sells Sanctuary'.

The attempted re-incarnation of Jim Morrison has also spilled over onto Ian's performance and he attempts a few Morrison dances and style. I almost felt that if Morrison did not pass away, we could have been watching "The Doors" today.
