Heady Hardcore

Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach is not exactly packed tonight, but that's not due to the quality of music on offer, mainly because some big named comedian is gigging five minutes away in the arena. The crowd of like minded stalwarts who are in attendance warm to Heights from the off and at the very least are soon nodding their heads along with their Hardcore/Metal mix which is full of epic sweeping moments, gang vocals, punishing beats and intricate riffs; they easily give headliners Devil Sold His Soul a run for their money.

Heavy but emotional and with warm waves of guitar this five piece really knows how to pen a heady and engaging tune and you can feel their enthusiasm jumping off the stage right at you; the whole band are constantly on the move, screaming along with the vocalist on every song and the guitarists make a break for the front of the stage whenever they can, to look the audience right in the face and challenge them to get as swept up as they are.

Heights really impress tonight, they play a really slick set of great tunes and give no less than 100 percent on every one they play, even to this small Tuesday crowd; the positive reactions can be heard in the conversations of the audience after their set and it seems that they've picked up some more fans at this show. Ones to watch.
