Vinnie Caruana Acoustic Tour 2013

Vinnie Caruana is best known for this work with I Am The Avalanche and The Movielife but this week saw him head to some of the UK's most intimate venues to play solo shows.

Londoners braved the cold to fill The Macbeth and the excitement in the room was instantly noticeable. There was no doubt that the people in the room were die hard fans, and they erupted into a cheering frenzy when the New Yorker hit the tiny stage.

As Caruana hit the stage he explained that he is having a great time due to a cocktail of pain medication following a back injury for which he is currently awaiting an operation to fix.

As soon as Caruana started singing his first song, it became obvious that everyone in the room knew the words and bellowed along with him. The high level of crowd participation continued song after song, at times almost drowning Caruana out.

Highlights of the set are hard to pull out due to the sheer level of excitement from both Caruana and the crowd that night, but the biggest sing along tracks of the night were Brooklyn Dodgers and This One's On Me which the crowd sang along to at an almost deafening level.

Caruana has spent more than 15 years in the industry but has only just released his solo EP City By The Sea; and his show at The Macbeth gave fans their first chance to buy it, and they were being eagerly snapped up, despite him only playing one song off of the release; Somehow The World Keeps Turning, which was the only song that people didn't sing along with.

A fantastic little show from a guy who apparently flew into the country to watch a Liverpool FC game. Vinnie Caruana is definitely worth a watch, he is both vocally and musically talented and is due to be back in the UK in April.
