Mallory Knox Reading Festival

What a year for Mallory Knox. Their debut album Signals hasn't stopped going since it dropped in January, a support slot on Don Broco's sell out tour and main stage spots at Takedown Festival, Slam Dunk Festival and now opening the main stage at the legendary Reading and Leeds Festivals. A feat that probably seemed an impossibility when they started over four years ago.

It's no wonder Mallory have become so big, they're in that new bracket of Rock that Kerrang! And it's readers seem to love, not too heavy but not too soft, basically they're a bowl of porridge in a picky girl's lineup of bands.

They kick off with the lively Wake Up which got rid of all the looming contagious hangovers plaguing the festival. The whole band looked shocked and astounded to be up there staring out at the huge crowd they were attracting.

They played a great set consisting of new material such as the 2012 hit Death Rattle and their slower song 1949 and a few of their older tracks from their Pilot EP in the form of Oceans and Resuscitate. Ending the set with the hit Lighthouse was definitely what the doctor ordered.
