Guns n' Roses have been added to the official Download Festival website as a headliner at this year's festival. They are listed as playing with the already confirmed acts of Metallica, The Prodigy, Deftones, Korn, Trivium, Bullet for My Valentine and Clutch.
Guns n' Roses last played a UK festvial at Leeds in 2002 and, since then, have cancelled numerous dates worldwide. With speculation of them playing every festival for the last decade, the official confirmation comes as a shock to many.
It is currently unknown what the line-up of Guns n' Roses will actually be with wild speculation that Slash and co. have put past feuds (and restraining orders) with Axl behind them. We'll have more news on this as we hear it.
Whether Guns n' Roses actually turn up is a completely different question - but for now, at least, it looks as though they'll be headlining a stage near you in 2006.
