Tickets for V Festival 2006 sold out on Friday morning in just 3 hours, with all tickets for both sites being snapped up in record time.

It's hardly surprising when you see the names already confirmed to appear. A list which includes headliners Radiohead and Morrissey, plus Paul Weller, Kasabian, Razorlight, Charlatans, Beck, Bloc Party, Hard-Fi, Keane, Ordinary Boys and Editors.

It's an absolute certainty that when Reading and Leeds, the last major festival still to go on sale, will be up for grabs we'll be running a similar story the same day. Given that there's a possibility of disappointment why not console yourselves by having a sweepstake to predict how quickly it does sell out and then at least you may have some reason to celebrate!

In other news this week, the Download line-up gets ever stronger by the day. Here's a reminder of who you can expect to find at Donnington this year.

Tool, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Prodigy, Korn, Deftones, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Alice in Chains, Cradle of Filth, Aiden, Lacuna Coil, Stone Sour, 36 Crazyfists, Soulfly, Arch Enemy, Eighteen Visions, InMe, Bloodsimple, Within Temptation, Hatebreed, Clutch, Soilwork, and To My Surprise.

If you fancy a metal festival abroad, Helloween and Dragonforce have been confirmed for the 2006 edition of the Waldrock Festival, set to take place Saturday, July 1 in Burgum, the Netherlands.

The line-up is already looking strong with the following acts already confirmed: Deicide, Dragonforce, Helloween, Motorhead, Soulfly and Y&T.

The additions to the Isle of Wight line-up this week include Lou Reed, Maximo Park Richard Ashcroft and Kubb. They join Dirty Pretty Things, Primal Scream, Editors, Kooks, 747's, Prodigy, Placebo, Goldfrapp and The Rakes.

Meanwhile T in the Park has strengthened its line-up this week with Placebo, Editors and the Go! Team the latest names on their list.

Three more names have been added to the line-up for this summer's Monsters of Rock. Joining the headline acts Deep Purple and Alice Cooper, are Journey, Thunder and Ted Nugent.

This will be Journey's first live performance in the UK for 26 years, while Thunder return to Monsters of Rock having first played in 1990. Ted Nugent will
be playing his first UK gig for four years.

Monsters of Rock takes place on Saturday June 3rd, at Milton Keynes Bowl.
