On 30 January, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and Iron Maiden were announced as the three headliners for Download 2007, and tickets are selling at a phenomenal rate. One way of ensuring entry to this year's Download Festival and pocket a massive £1,000 in the process is to take the Download Dog for a walk.
You will receive hard cash and the full VIP rock star treatment for 4 people by walking the pink pooch in the cleverest place possible. Maybe the mongrel could get its teeth sunk into the internet by featuring in an online game, or could bungy jump from the Severn Bridge. The decision is in the hands of the public, and the most imaginative and creative entry will win this superb top prize, or one of four pairs of runner-up weekend and camping passes.

Photos can be uploading from next Tuesday (Feb 13( until May 11, with the winner being announced on May 23.
Over 2000 entries were submitted last year with Sam Flynn from Oxford being crowned the winner. She was presented with her prize on the main stage in front of thousands. Sam managed to get the dog across the length and breadth of Oxford by promoting her own night, and using the Download Dog as the mascot on the posters. She then went on and created a whole room of Download Dogs by giving away homemade pink fluffy ears for everyone to wear during the night itself. Other entrants included a tattoo, a beautifully hand illustrated guide to Download, the dog roller-skating around Trafalgar Square, and a huge banner hung from London Bridge.
