BBC 6Music's tallent search with a difference has had it's final date moved due to popular demand.

Hardchoral is the hunt for school choirs who prefer to sing current or classic alternative songs rather than more traditional classical numbers.

So far entries have included 'Crazy' from Gnarls Barkley, '(Don't fear)The Reaper' Blue Oyster Cult, and the inevitable range of Beatles hits. Also Guns N' Roses, Oasis, Queen and Razorlight have been given the school choir treatment.

Entries are being posted on the station's website this weekend, with a top three being decided from a public vote to determine which three go through to the final at the end of the month.

The competition has been running for the past six weeks and was initially inspired by a choral version of the Kaiser Chiefs hit 'I Predict a Riot' given a choral twist by Warrington based choir; 'The Cheshire Chord Company'.
