Idlewild will release a second compilation this October.

'A Distant History: Rarities 1997-2007' is a compilation of early IDLEWILD tracks including b-sides and cover versions. It will be available as a digital only release through Parlophone on 29th October.

'Queen of the Troubled Teens' was the band's first release, self financed (with student loans) and recorded in a local studio. A copy of the 7" found its way to Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq who played it on his evening show. With interest in the band rocketing from the airplay, and only 1000 copies of the single ever pressed up, this debut release has changed hands for silly money on the net.

Several cover versions are also featured on the album, including their interpretation of the Gang of Four track 'I Found That Essence Rare', which became a live favourite when it was originally released in October 2002 as a b-side.

The tracklist for the album is:
'Queen of the Troubled Teens' - self-financed first single on Human Condition label
