Jack Penate is the latest new star of 2007 to score a top ten album success as 'Matinee' goes in at 7.

Eric Clapton's latest hits collection, titled 'Complete' is in at 2, with the Sugababes grabbing the top spot.

Alter Bridge 'Blackbird' is new at 37.

On the singles front, artists of note selling well this week include Hoosiers at 5, Scouting For Girls at 10, Peter Bjorn and John at 20 and Biffy Clyro debuting at 29. But, despite a week long campaign, with all manner of stars telling us how the song changed their lives for ever, the NME's bid to get 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols to number 1 has fallen rather flat as the punk classic doesn't appear to have made the top fourty this time round.
