Iron Maiden began their ‘Somewhere Back In Time’ world tour in India tonight (Friday 1).

Not normally worthy of a news story for a UK website, but given that this tour is another one of their themed exercises, the setlist is of interest for those heading to see them at Twickenham Stadium in July.

Following their headlining appearance at
Reading and Leeds in 2005 where they played only songs from the first four albums, Maiden are moving on to focus on reflecting their mid eighties tour that promoted the ‘Power Slave’ album.

That tour featured an Egyptian themed stage set, which has been recreated for this tour. The Cyborg Eddie from the 1986 tour also appears.

Nearly 100,000 fans gathered in Mumbai, to see the band play the following:

‘Intro - Churchill's Speech’
‘Aces High’
‘2 Minutes to Midnight’
‘Revelations’
‘The Trooper’
‘Wasted Years’
‘The Number of the Beast’
‘Run to the Hills’
‘Rime of the Ancient Mariner’
‘Powerslave’
‘Heaven Can Wait’
‘Can I Play With Madness?’
‘Fear of the Dark’
‘Iron Maiden’

Encore
‘Moonchild’
‘The Clairvoyant’
‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’

Iron Maiden hit the UK on July 5, with an already announced support from Avenged Sevenfold, with more to be added.

Tickets are on sale now.
