Elbow have said they plan to play their new album in full as a live show.

‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ was released on Monday (March 17, and the band say they want to celebrate the album form, although no exact details are known yet as for when and where they’ll do this.

Although the album concept is unlikely to go away for some time, Elbow’s move comes after high profile explorations into releasing music in a broken down form.

Ash have already abandoned the album, and Muse have said they’re considering the follow up to ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ to be issued as a series of songs over a period of weeks and months.

On the subject of Muse albums, their CD of the Wembley show from last summer is thought to be on course for the number 1 spot this Sunday, making it the first live album to top the chart since the Chili Peppers Hyde Park concert five years ago.
