Still searching for your summer 2008 festival fix?

Why not try this one for size?

One of R13’s favourite festivals is now just four weeks away.

Guilfest returns to it’s usual home of Stoke Park in Guildford over the weekend of July 4-6, and much of the line up is already announced with recent new additions Little Man Tate, Never The Bride, Tony Benn, Howard Marx and Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers recently added to the bill.

Headliners for the main stage are Levellers, Blondie and Australian Pink Floyd Show.

The Levellers top the bill on Friday, and will be joined by two acts featured in our bands to see this summer list, Carbon/Silicon and Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Saturday has Blondie as headliner, with nineties indie favourites Kula Shaker and Dodgy on before them.

Hoodoo Gurus and Little Man Tate are also confirmed for the Saturday.

Sunday will be closed by Australian Pink Floyd, with the members of the Jam who aren’t Paul Weller going under the name of From the Jam, one time Catatonia front woman Cerys Matthews and punk legends The Damned also appearing on Sunday.

The Rock Sound Cave has pulled out some heavyweights this year, most eyecatching being the appearance of 2008 Download main stagers Fightstar as Saturday night headliner.

Topping that stage on the Friday are another from our bands to see list 65Daysofstatic, with The Blackout closing the weekend on Sunday night.

Also playing on Friday are Devil Sold His Soul, The Legacy, Pilgrim Fathers, Sacred Mother Tongue, Hearts Under Fire, Pint Shot Riot and The Rushing.

Playing with Fightstar on Saturday are The Ghost Of A Thousand, Tellison, Brigade, Slaves to Gravity, The Infidels, The Plight, Second Smile, Midasuno, Truth Tells Lies and recently added Go:Audio.

After joining Reuben on stage last year, Frank Turner returns to Guilfest for his own set on Sunday, with Johnny Truant, The Mirimar Disaster, Senser, Enjoy Destroy, The Computers and newly added this week The Loyalties.

The second stage, once again sponsored by Ents24, has three big name headliners in the form of Freak Power, Bowling For Soup and British Sea Power.

Joining Freak Power on the Friday are System 7 and The Egg, with Saturday featuring The Aliens, Royworld, Richie Havens, Babyhead and Sonic Boom Six. Sunday sees BSP joined by Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Seth Lakeman and Dreadzone.

The Funky Ends Tent, as the name suggests, is the dance arena, and their line up includes Sunday night headliner X-Press 2.

Aside from the music there’s plenty of other attractions including football coaching in the kids area and a new Guilfest Gallery where festivalgoers can take time out to create their own art.
