Festival season is well and truly underway and one of R13’s favourite events is about to kick off. This year’s Latitude festival boasts another top bills of bands, performers, poets and comedians in the dreamy surroundings of Henham Park, Southwold.

Top musical artists preparing themselves to grace Latitude’s multiple stages include Patrick Wolf, Regina Spektor, Pet Shop Boys, Patrick Wolf, White Lies, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Thom Yorke, Spiritualized, Emmy The Great, Gossip, Vaselines and Manchester Orchestra. From the main stages R13 would highly recommend Regina Spektor (recently reviewed at Serpentine Sessions here, Magazine whose spectacular return to form is reviewed here and The Boss’s favourites Gaslight Anthem who rocked Hyde Park (see review here.

On The Lake Stage there’s a real treat for those hoping to discover a new favourite band or two. Electro pop duo 2 Hot 2 Sweat are bound to please on Saturday, while Slow Club will soothe you into Sunday.

In the Comedy Arena the likes of Jo Brand, Russell Kane and Dave Gorman will be giving their takes on life, while a whole range of classy cabaret will entertain you in the Cabaret Arena. The fashion icon Vivienne Westwood is bound to pack out the Literary Arena, with the likes of Danny Wallace and Luke Haines also putting in an appearance. This year also sees the addition of the Literary Salon with workshops that will appeal to all.

Latitude has built up its reputation as one of the most chilled and enjoyable festivals with a range of entertainment that attracts fun-loving, friendly fans and superb bands and this year looks like a great one.
