It has been reported this morning that the BBC has plans to axe radio station 6 Music.

As the BBC comes under increasing pressure to cut expenditure, the radio station which boasts talent such as Adam and Joe, Lauren Laverne, Huey Morgan, Bob Dylan, Guy Garvey and Jarvis Cocker is thought to be culled.

Costing around £7 million a year to run and with an audience of 620,000, the station has received support by way of Facebook, with 58,300 joining the ‘Save BBC 6 Music’ campaign.

At present, the BBC has made no comment about the rising speculation.
