Festival season is in full swing, so we decided to Band of the Month to one up and coming band that really impressed us at their set at Download last month, Mordecai

The London quartet have been creating a lot of attention of late, which all helped get them to be invited to play Download! If you missed them - then do not despair, they will be on the road again soon. But in the meantime go buy their awesome debut album Undaunted.

Bio:
Mordecai are a hard rock band from London England. They've fused together their own rich and dark, but melodic, American hard rock sound, with a gritty British twist.

Since solidifying the unit, Dan, Andy, Goodwin and Rick, have shown their determination and drive by receiving raving reviews from industry. Some of their notable achievements, being invited to be a part of Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge, Tremonti Project)'s, 'Fret12 Artist Development Program' for the summer of 2012, being crowned 'New Band of the Year' at the Pure Rawk awards, reaching the regional finals of the global battle of the bands with Hard Rock Cafe/Hard Rock Calling (One of the top 160 bands out of 5.5million world-wide), Playing a very well received Sunday afternoon slot at Download Festival, and most notably, Mordecai jetted off to Philadelphia, USA, to record their much anticipated debut album, Undaunted, at the Grammy award winning 'Studio A'. Their unique blend of American rock and British metal made the choice to record in the USA an easy one.

Since its release in May 2013, Undaunted has received a great response from fans and industry alike. Mordecai have not slowed down and were invited to play a second consecutive year at Download festival. Playing a bigger stage on the Sunday, Mordecai played a very well received show to a full tent.

The boys have been aiming high, they are making waves on both sides of the Atlantic and are determined not to let up.

If you were the prime minister for one day, what would you do:
Dan: Ban Marmite!!!!!!!!

Andy: I would say, sort out immigration but that might leave us without a bass player!

Rick: Call in sick.

Gooders: Make it a legal requirement to see at least one live band a week.

If you could go back to any time in history, where would you go and why:
Rick: 20th of April 1992. Freddie Mercury tribute concert.

Dan: When Churchill was in charge, I'd sit with him, go through a bottle of whiskey and a cigar and put the world to rights! That man is the true definition of 'Hero'!

Gooders: Isle of Wight Festival 1970, see Keith Moon with The Who in the flesh!!

Andy: I would just love to see Pantera!!! Any tour, anywhere. As long as I get to see Pantera live!!! Gutted I missed the opportunity!

Is there anything you would like to say to our readers:
Come and say hi, keep in touch, be part of the family and keep Live Music alive!!
Hope to see you at a show near you soon!
Gooders: yeah!!! Keep live music alive! Get out there and check out live bands. Also love my band and give us lots of money!
