Crazy…!

I have to say that when this started up on my CD player, I got something completely different from what I was expecting. I was ready for some sort of mix between a camp cabaret and some Euro Dance, however what I get is a female version of Gnarls Barkley mixed with the sultry tones of Nell Bryden, with whom she has supported on tour.

The lead single here is, ‘Ruthless’ and whilst musically it’s not so dance orientated it is very much like Gnarls Barkley, although quite amusingly the vocals are deeper here! It’s an easily accessible song and you can see how this could be very popular. This is then slightly different to the b-side of, ‘Romance’ which is a more Blues/Jazz fusion very much in the vein of Nell Bryden. This is a classic blend of old fashion blues, from a smokey posh nightclub whereby drinks are served in a tall crystal glasses, cigarettes are smoked with thin holders, and diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

This isn’t my sort of music, but I can certainly appreciate good music and that is the important thing. This is not a fad. Not a quick buck winning formula, but harking back to good old fashioned music that has a style and grace that can live forever, and for that point only I have to tip my hat to her…
