Chilled out and yet with enough grit bubbling beneath the surface to give a good rock kick, Burning Shapes' latest single, Silence Amplified is a rush of genius that literally takes you away from the mundane troubles of the day and transports you to a place where only the music matters. From it's tender, sedate beginning to incessant beats that draw you further and further into Burning Shapes realm, Silence Amplified manages to wrap pure British indie beats around a Californian surf pop vibe that, with the aid of Toby Uffindell-Phillips soulful vocals, caresses your ear drums whilst giving your toes something to tap along to. B side, Someone Else's Words sees the four piece in a completely different light as the band's uniquely attractive vocal harmonising comes to the forefront coating the track in a mournful, heart tugging dose of emotion that bristles with angst; be warned even the hardest heart will not be able to resist this one. Thank the music gods that their debut album, These Things Happen is due for release later this year as Burning Shapes is a band you will definitely be wanting to hear more from.
