Don't Miss The Boat

Hertfordshire based quintet Thousand Autumns certainly know how to pack a mighty, melodic punch. Following up on last year's EP release, City Of Sun, the band are back with yet another tantalising teaser to wet our appetites in the form of four track EP Chasing Boasts.

Charging out of the starting blocks, Within Compass gets things underway with an unquenchable burst of energy, eagerly barrelling past with fist pounding beats and layered guitars aplenty. Add to this an unavoidably infectious rush of melodic hooks and it is instantly clear that Thousand Autumns are not here to simply help you pass away a few minutes; this is a track with intent, one that demands you sit up and pay attention to a band that could just be on the cusp of taking the next step, a statement that resides throughout the EP. Teeming with hook heavy riffs and vocals that beg you to sing along, Mud bristles with the catchiness of Young Guns whilst offloading a heaviness that will keep your head banging whilst your feet dance along with glee before For You unleashes an avalanche of melodies that combine with a ridiculously infectious backbone which will take up residence in your brain, making room only for the powerful might of title track Chasing Boats that only reinforces the fact that Thousand Autumns' are a band that you need to get to know now.

Catchy, brimming with energy and with a confidence and style that some more established bands can only dream of ever having, Thousand Autumns are a force to be reckoned with, make sure you don't miss the boat.
