Kung Foo Fighting...
The big powerful train that is Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters not only keeps on rollin' but gathers more speed and momentum with each release. 'Best of You' is not their strongest single, but is still packed full of thoughtful melodies, insightful lyrics and a shouting chorus that is just heavy enough for the rockers, but also accessible to the main stream record buyers.
Though 'Best of You' is a mid-tempo affair, the Foos still manage to produce a rocking song that will most likely be one of the softer songs on the forthcoming album 'In Your Honor', which is said to be "...one helluva rock beast, easily the heaviest album yet, rippling uncontrollably like a tank of starving piranhas..." well, er... quite. Then of course, there is the Acoustic Album.
The Foo Fighters, and in particular Dave Grohl, are great musicians but are also great at marketing their sound so it appeals to a wide market without losing any of their rock credibility. Dave Grohl recently suggested that their new album will be to Foo Fighters fans what "'Physical Graffiti' is to the fans of Led Zeppelin" - let's hope that he is not setting them up for a fall
Watch out Foo Fighters are about to take over the world...
