Blending earth pounding guitar riffs with lyrics that ooze emo sentimentality, 'Magneto' forcefully heralds Brigade's presence onto the music scene. Whilst the passionately raw vocals of Will Simpson dart around melodic hooks, 'Magneto' also manages to offer a grunge fuelled grittiness that enables the track to reach epically powerful proportions as it blasts its way out of the speakers. Not having this song turned up to the max would be a crime; it literally screams for the volume knob to be ripped off as it weaves its way into your consciousness, becoming more compelling with each listen.
The rock elite are sure to openly knock Brigade but secretly 'Magneto' will become one of their guilty pleasures. Yes, Brigade will be labelled a teeny rock band. Yes, there are those who will see them purely as sugar coated rock, and yes, there will always be comments about their lead singers family connections to a certain Busted/Fightstar member but 'Magneto' has the power to blow all such assumptions sky high whilst simultaneously giving a firm and forceful two fingered salute. So, crank up the volume and don't let this become one of your guilty pleasures, there are much more embarrassing artists to fit that bill and Brigade are certainly not one of them.
