Tantalising Teaser

Having burst onto the radar a couple of years ago stunning all with their ability to channel Kurt Cobain without a ouiji board or psychic in sight, Nine Black Alps are back with a teasing little glimpse of their upcoming album, Love/Hate.

For those who fell in love with the Manchester four piece for their angst ridden nuggets of grunge now may be the time to look elsewhere for your melancholy fix as Nine Black Alps have injected some poppy beats into their tracks, thrown in some tuneful and chirpy vocals into the mix along with melodies and hooks that are infectiously soppy and irresistibly fun. Bursting to life with a wall of guitars and incessantly uplifting drumbeats, 'Burn Faster' is like an Ash track being remixed by The Subways. Confidently compelling 'Burn Faster' is set to become a firm favourite whilst 'Bitter End' is even more removed from old school Nine Black Alps. Verging on the brink of becoming power pop rock, 'Bitter End' is oozing with sing along goodness that becomes more addictive with every play. The grunge era has well and truly died for Nine Black Alps and whilst 'Forget My Name' infuses some venom drenched vocals and bitter tinged lyrics into the equation there is still a catchiness to the track that you will be hard pressed to resist.

Its time to get excited. Having been forced to play in the shadow of grunge and its leader for too long, Nine Black Alps now look ready to show the world what they can actually do. Mixing catchy hooks and addictive melodies with hints of angst and ever so slight suggestions of anger fuelled riffs and beats, the Manchester group have concocted a mouth-watering brew that will happily lure you in.
