Return of the left-handed gunslinger...meaning me...

Although residents of Miami, Florida (don't you just love it when you see those captions in American movies? I mean can you think of another city called Beijing that ISN'T in China?), Nothing Rhymes with Orange grew up listening to predominantly UK bands including The Smiths, James and Blur and their influence on these traditional pop rockers is keenly felt.

And although they're purported to sound 'fresh amidst the proliferation of bland American rock quartets', Nothing Rhymes with Orange don't really convince that they do.

'Billy the Kid' is a slick, over-produced, soft rocking track that is sure to make it to the top of the Radio 2 playlist. That said, it is also a simple and unpretentious song that doesn't bother with achingly hip post-modern rock posturing and for that reason alone, it's worth a couple more R13 points. You see - I do have a heart after all...

One can only imagine what Nothing Rhymes with Orange would sound like if they cranked up the distortion and started recording onto an 8-track in a barn, but chances are it would sound a hell of a lot better than this.

N.B. If any of you want something that DOES rhyme with orange, pick up a copy of P.G. Wodehouse's 'Jeeves & The Feudal Spirit'and check out Percy's surname...
