Schizo Fun Addict- Dream of a Portugal keeper

Schizo Fun Addict begin the process of narrative with new single “Dream of the Portugal keeper.” The new release precedes the forthcoming LP “The Sun Yard”- restricted to 100 limited edition handpainted copies. It’s not big scale but it’s cute at least.

The story of the track screams at me in a typical Macolm Middleton eerie style, Roberto Muolo’s exquisite trumpet brings a certain depth to the piano keys and light drumming. Jane Schizo widens eyes with wonder, helping create a fantastic, beautiful mesmerizing single. If it sounds like I’m talking absolute palafel, I am. But this is what the tracks do to you- bring you out of your box and lift you off your feet; in a purely non illegal substance kinda way. Very rarely do I find a song that takes me out of my shell, encourages me to contemplate my every second and force a smile to my already exhausted day.

You could sit sipping wine or lay gazing for hours. The New York Art rockers have made me forget my original questioning of the dream keepers purpose and instead invited me into their slow, indulgent chocolate covered reveries. The second tracks isn’t so thoughtful but the third restores my faith in everything I just experienced, allowing Muolo the opportunity to sing in key but off in his original yet brilliant manner.

I was thoroughly impressed- if you hadn’t already guessed. Think I might go investigate where those hand painted copies come from. In fact- perhaps I should slate the record just to get myself a copy before you guys…
