Leon Jean Marie- bed of nails

Leon Jean Marie? Whilst I wait for iTunes to find what I’m looking for, a quick flick through the Press Release allows me to come to a couple of conclusions. Bands need to think more about their names before releasing material. Take The Last Of The Shadow Puppets. Admit everyone calls them Alex Turner’s side project.

This East London lad releases debut single “Bed of nails”, produced by Mark Ronson and sporting a halo before we even hear the track. The early R’n’B stint is evident in this release with sexy vibes present, but Ronson’s production fortunately shines through. It’s catchy and enjoyable, radio friendly and widely heard- especially touring with the likes of Amy Winehouse (well when she gets round to it). These kinda favours will get you far.

Ironically the B-side “Stay Right Here” really gets me moving; rhythmic and funky throughout its three and a half minute duration. Leon has a really good thing going for him here; especially as summer months arrive and Ronson walks around earning mortgages with singles. Watch this space.
