Massive Hot Chip connections are not shyed away from in this press release; shouting it loud and proud in fact. Grovesnor releases debut track “Drive your car” on the 7th April.
Grovesnor, aka Rov Smoughton steps back to the 80’s for this one; mixing new rhythm with old disco classic.
The chorus is really really good; like a bag of sunshine caught and released when the rain starts pouring. And it is very Hot Chip like I’m pleased to say. Because had it not been after that PR stunt, I would have in fact been heartbroken.
Yet the rest of the track leaves much to be desired. After listening to a lot of summer anthems of new and old as of late this, although a good radio track; doesn’t match many of the dance floor fillers I’ve bopped to. It’s good, but it’s no “ready for the floor” is it?
