'Head Automatica' are the side project of 'Glassjaw' front man Daryl Palumbo, and I am in the exquisite position of neither having heard a thread of Glassjaw's music, or read a word of their life story, therefore my words are as impartial as they could possibly be.
Now I'm not going to beat around the bush here analysing the architecture of every note, this single is just amazing. From the frivolous Palumbo twanged tambourine in the intro and the perfectly strummed guitar resonance, to the astounding volcanic vocal duties, this song blows your mind.
It is not that often that an offering arrives in your life that no matter how many times you play it, it never loses an ounce of attraction or a slither of class.
You wont believe the force of Palumbo's holler, and the lyrics really lead you to want to drain all of your energy in absorbing them, and dare I say it, in singing along.
In short, you need to hear this song. It has not only become my single of the year so far, but has also made it into the list of my all time favourites.
