Daddy, it’s time to go home!

Following on from the EP of the same name, Leeds Street Punkers, Guns On The Roof now release the video to their single, ‘Last Orders’, the Hellraising Punk anthem from the band’s debut album, ‘New Frustration’ that was release earlier in the year.

It’s far to say that whilst us Brit’s arguably invented Punk Rock, we have handed the proverbial baton over to our cousins over the water, who have polished it up and made it more mainstream. And this is not bad thing. However the Brits are fighting back with the likes of Strawberry Blondes, Dead Pets and of course, Guns On The Roof. This single is one of the best on the album and therefore of no surprise to see it released as a single with a video to accompany it.

Following the lyrics of the song, the video surrounds a guy who is a little older than the rest of the party-goers out on the Razz in pubs and clubs. So as the lyrics sing out, “We’ve had a good night, so Daddy it’s time to go home,” this is what is happening as our daddy character • who I might add looks no older than myself • embarrasses himself with various women before stumbling out of the pub, pissing against the wall and being arrested by the boys-in-blue and spending a night drying out in the can. The twist comes as he calls his son, who gets out of bed, picks his dad up from the old nick and drops him off at work…as the vicar at the local church. Good one.

In between the story line we have the band in a warehouse jumping around and looking totally Punk Rock, which is always a good thing. It’s a great single, a good video and a great band. The complete package some might say…
