In a modern day world where fewer and fewer mainstream outlets are interested in any other form of guitar driven rock than often lacklustre and occasionally wanting Indie acts, it's a wonder that traditional, unpredictable rock and roll has managed to keep its head above commercial waters as long as it has.

Undoubtedly, it's bands like Towers of London that are the backbone of such drastic and relentless revivals. Shamelessly full-on, in your face and often chaotic; the London five-piece's pure rock ugliness and over the top, retro posing has already began to strike terror into the introverted British music scene. Taking influence from such other outrageous and previously deemed unacceptable bands as punk kings the Sex Pistols and hair metal legends Motley Crue, Towers of London are simply a band that live for the age old philosophy of 'Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll'.

Having already stolen the show at last year's In The City festival, 2005 looks set to be the year that the fivesome explode into the public eye with the same snarling attitude of which their music contains. read less
