Sum 41 is a Canadian pop-punk/rock band, that formed from members of several local high school bands back in 1996. After putting their differences aside, the band signed a record deal with Island Records in three years later.

The band released their album Half Hour of Power in 2000, which received little acknowledgment. Mainstream success came with their next two releases. First there was All Killer No Filler in 2001 and then Does This Look Infected? in 2002. the band altered the style to this album, making it heavier, while keeping the smooth harmonies they had become known for. Two years later came another album, Chuck, which had a much more serious mood, without the humor of the band's previous releases.

The departure of bassest Dave, who left the band to work with his new group, Brown Brigade, hasn't effect the the determination and persistance of the remaining three members who have recently finished their next studio album, due for release at the end of July 2007, which is backed by the first single and title track Underclass Hero.
