Jet- Rip it up

Jet return to the U.K scene after playing a massive 38 shows on their US tour, hoping to bring in the big crowds debut album 'Get Born' greeted them with. 'Rip It Up' is a definite crowd pleaser, with the distinctive vocals of Nic Cester shining through once again.

Like all Jet classics, you picture the soundtrack of a successful teen movie, and Jet lines up alongside American soft rock bands proudly, 'Rip It Up' and come to think of it B-side 'That's All Lies' are prime examples. It's typical and soft, as you would expect, with a hint of Switches appearing in the second track, possibly an indication of potential expansion on their sound?

I like it; it's fresh and nice to hear another good release from the Australian boys - sexy and smooth. Critically, Cester's vocals are THAT individual that each Jet track remains pretty similar to the one prior to yet the Chilli's have been churning out the same material for years and it's thus far to do them any harm. The band are thoroughly enjoying touring the world, and with live favourites not hard to come by it's no wonder. The second album has sold almost a million copies worldwide and with 'Rip It Up' taken from it, you can expect these numbers to increase sufficiently from the 25th June.
