Yep, those hard rocking punks from Leeds are back with the ‘Last Orders EP’ featuring two songs from their fantastic debut album, ‘New Frustration’ and a new song in, ‘Michael Myres’.

First song, ‘Last Orders’ is to me what Street Punk is all about. It’s full off big guitar riffs that explode like windows in a bar fight, then chugging dirty and grimy guitars with lyrics about the devil’s water that make no apologies towards anyone. “We’ve had a good night, so Daddy it’s time to go home // Now don’t get another pint ‘cause Daddy, it’s time to go home // Don’t start a fight now Daddy, it’s time to go home! // I know you really love me, but Daddy, it’s time to go home!”

‘So Tired’ has feverish guitars and fast paced drum beats, and although not quite as catchy and punchy as ‘Last Orders’, it does show the band in a more comfortable Punk mode. “My Souls on fire!” screams Liam, and quite frankly I know what he means.

Last song, ‘Michael Myres’ doesn’t appear on the band’s debut album so it is of special interest to me. It starts of in a real Rock/Metal way with the slight Thrash-like guitar riffs, and building up to a song that does deviate slightly from Punk and into a more Classic Rock meets Old School Metal a bit like Judas Priest jamming with Ratt but good. On the one hand it is slightly different than the band’s other songs, but as it is about the fictional killer from John Carpenter’s movie, ‘Halloween’ (recently re-vamped by ex-White Zombie main man Rob Zombie), the music is strangely apt.

Once again I am surprised that Guns On The Roof are still unsigned, and I can only hope that the suits at the record labels take their eyes off of the underage teenage girls in pop bands long enough to appreciate what we have here by way of Punk Rock.

So if you are a fan of Strawberry Blondes, The Briggs, Dead Pets, Rancid, The Casualties or any band remotely similar then you can do a lot worse than checking these boys out right now!
