Putting A Smile On Even The Grumpiest Face

With unwavering guitars wrapping around foot-tappingly relentless drum beats, Manchester’s The Words have acquired a formula that they aren’t going to let go of without a fight, but then if it works, why would you?

Bright and breezy from the initial rush of rock laced melodies that stream out of the sprightly ‘Under The Sun’, The Words usher in summertime, as their feel good blend of rock skips by with passion filled vocals that deliver with an inviting Northern twang strapped to every word. ‘My Silver Line’ and ‘Time’ follow suit, delivering the same guitar woven burst of catchy rock to encourage the feet to tap along merrily before ‘Holding Up The Walls’ stirs things up slightly with a more sombre tone that quickly strives for an anthemic rush to bring things to a satisfying conclusion. The Words latest EP may not be re inventing the wheel, but there is still something encouragingly invigorating about ‘All The Roads’ that is guaranteed to put a smile on even the grumpiest face.
