With A Crazed Look...
Having drawn a crowd more impressive than any of the other stages on a sleepy Sunday morning, you start to wander why so many extra security guards have been drafted in. As Fireapple Red walk on stage, opening The Concrete Jungle Stage in the same way that they opened this year’s Barfly Stage at Download, you realise just why this band has created such interest.

For starters, their front-man is possessed. He is a front-man that couldn’t stand still if you asked him nicely. Thrashing around the stage like something from The Chainsaw Massacre, you start to realise that it is love of performing, music and slight insanity that possess and drive this man.

Whilst the crowd may not be throwing themselves around, they do throw their fists in to the air on cue and all lurch towards the front barrier as the crazed madman jumps off stage towards the security guards.

Fireapple Red have totally killer riffs, amazing energy and understand the nature of crowds. They’re going to be going a long way – even if they tear up every stage on the way.
