In Your Face Indie

Indie has become a dirt word to many. There was a time when it meant real, small-time, average Brits playing dirty and sleazy rock 'n' roll in your face. The NME generation then arrived and now indie is nothing more than a formulaic path to boredom in many cases.

Once in a while an indie band changes all this and give the industry a kick up the backside. The Subways are one of these bands with dual fronted vocals from Billy Lunn and his fiancée and bassist Charlotte Cooper - The Subways are best described as thick, layered guitar riffs carried by passionate vocals.

The Subways play through their selection of hits like '1AM', 'Rock & Roll Queen' and 'Oh yeah' to a crowd that sing along to every word as if they were their own.

The Subways are one of a few reminders that there are genuine bands putting their all in to the music they create. If you've not yet had the chance to see them then catch them as soon as you have the chance on their upcoming UK tour.
