Avenged Sevenfold

With metal in the air, A7X are one among many bands today for whom the music seems to be above all else. Arriving on stage twenty minutes late they immediately start a barrage of bass and thrashing guitar riffs to announce their arrival.

After a few songs, A7X join in the belated Dimebag tributes as they pay their respects with a cover of Pantera's classic 'Walk' as the whole of Donington seem to join in chants of 'Re-spect, Walk...'. It soon becomes clear that Avenged Sevenfold are another band that are welcome on the Main Stage in Donington Park as the crowd remain fixated throughout their set.

Whilst there may not be as many people here as there have been for other bands over the weekend, Avenged Sevenfold are definitely one of the most intense bands that Download will see in 2006 but perhaps, would have been a band better suited to second stage headlining duties.

As their set draws on a selection of their better-known material more and more people join in the spectacle that is Avenged Sevenfold.
