Phoenix From The Flames

Looking the more likely of support bands for this evening’s slot with Papa Roach, Heaven’s Basement take to the stage bounding with a sense of energetic confidence to suggest that they are tonight’s real headliners.

Big, brash and with a cheeky sense of sleazy boisterousness nestled in for good measure, Heaven’s Basement have taken the torch from ‘80s sleaze metal and added their own special sheen to it, helping it to evolve healthy into a colossal rush of searing guitars, unapologetically alluring dirty beats and commanding vocals. Looking like the British love child of Motley Crue and Buckcherry, Heaven’s Basement aren’t ones to mess about, diving straight into an exhausting set of adrenaline draining uncompromised rock from the thumping beats of the infectious ‘Graduation’ to the passion pumped balladry of ‘Misunderstood’, suitably peppered with rock star posturing throughout.

Strutting raucously along a tidal wave of engulfing heavy bass lines, ‘Executioner’s Day’ delivers a rush of wickedly sordid fun, igniting a flash of energy throughout the crowd as the British rockers command attention from every inch of the room, forcing those getting a swift pint from the bar before the main event to actually wander in and see exactly what they have been missing out on.

Having risen from the ashes of various previous bands, Heaven’s Basement has undeniably done their homework, they’ve played the dingy club shows to a mere handful of people and deserve to receive recognition, let’s hope this stint with Papa Roach does the trick.
